These are the ingredients of
Staseranonesco.
Even if its
principal characteristics are for the most part involved with gastronomy, the
experience which we want to propose to you aims at safeguarding a lot of
knowledge which has been passed on mostly verbally, a heritage for which
the adjective “ cultural “ is not exaggerated.
Only by keeping in mind this goal, it
is possible to explain the spirit of a project which expresses itself at
its best with the cooperation of as many persons as possible.
Everything
begins when we realize two true facts :
First: Most part , often the best ,
of the gastronomic heritage of our country ( but not only of ours ) is in
the hands of written notebooks and most of all in the experience of the
persons, mostly women but very often also by men, who have learned the art
of cooking from their family and almost always from the mother.
Many dishes which were common in the
past are now confined within the family, and if on one hand they are
preserved by the verbal tradition , on the other
hand they are threatened by the changes of our social habits
The family as a whole is always less central in our lives and also smaller
then it used to be .
The value of sharing a meal at a table has definitely decreased during the
last decades with the consequence that the persons we were mentioning above
tend to cook less with the risk of forgetting what they know due to a lack
of audience.
The second reality which has come across
our mind, is that anyone visiting our Country, even a foreign tourist , can
participate in one of these events; this would definitely be a precious
“ sight “ of his or her itinerary in Florence or any other
city.
We have been able to verify personally
this aspect every time my friends have been invited at our mother’s
and we have continuous confirmations from persons who love to host people
and who love to share these types of emotions.
